I think he is right, the new games dont feel like the old ones.
And the move scheme is kinda boring, just for kids.
I can't pretend to know Takahashi's feelings other than what has been quoted, nor should I pretend to know your intentions in posting the quote, but I think that Takahashi feels like an outsider in a culture that has become hostile to his point of view, and I think perhaps you identify with that.
I just wanted you to know that for a lot of us who believe in games and the possibility they represent you are a voice of sanity, Leigh. Thanks for keeping us sane.

I enjoy that strange man's points of view. Gaming really has been the same thing over and over again for years. And while he created two unique games, they haven't changed much in the overall world of gaming. It will be sad to see him go, but maybe he will produce something that he believes actually contributes to something and which he really enjoys.
Gaming is heading the wrong, casual way. I already miss the good old times.
I agree with Takahashi, 3D is cool, but in itself is not enough. When DOOM came out, it had a new map generator, but also, a great environment, dark, obscure backgrounds, and an amazing gameplay. 3D is just a mean to an end, but today it is too often the end itself.
I dont know about 3D and the new games that seems to be a very long discussion for a late night comment @_@, however, he seems to be having quite a good time as costume character actor in that weird youtube video...
I am not quite sure about all those things regarding the new games... but based on that weird youtube channel (i assume its his) he seems to enjoy quite a bit his life as costume character actor.
