Congrats Bee

Congrats to my former supervisor, favorite drunk-texting buddy and longtime friend Brandon Boyer on being named Chairman of the IGF. Brandon is the indisputable king of champions for our indie community and absolutely no one deserves it more.

Posting this photo of us at GDC (with David Hellman, no less!) so I can brag that I know him. Hope they don't mind. This photograph is the work of .tiff, and overall I must say that those who photograph me/appear in photographs with me at industry events are people you should envy me for getting to hang with.

Are you only ickle Leigh or are they both man-giants?

Speaking of indie games, I bought the humble indie bundle (paid lot more than a $1!), and was quite impressed. Samorost 2 the 11th hour bonus just melted my heart. and thus prompted me to get Machinarium.

Never really thought about gaming on the Mac before, but my eyes have been opened.

I knew I saw Mr. Boyer somewhere. I think I saw him at a recent IGDA microtalk session here in Austin where he gave probably the most entertaining speech next to Harvey Smith just a couple of days ago.

Also, he may or may not have been sitting on the same table with me while a group of us were bitching about game making at a local bar no longer than a year ago. Also, he may or may not have been a game journalist that told me, after I asked him if we were fucked for being so open during our bitch session, that he wasn't the kind of journalist to write from the stuff we developers bitch about during the few breaks we get when unhealthily crunching. If that was him, I congratulate his professionalism.

And David Hellman? That sounds familiar, too...

Oh.

Thanks for the kind words all around! All of this is true -- mugshots patio with James & Jimmy, right, Carlos?

I know enough things I shouldn't know to both curl the chesthairs of various unnamed publisher CEOs and put a 4th-gen iPhone-sized bulge in Nick Denton's trousers, but if I'd ever say a word I literally wouldn't have a friend left in the world.
