Vacation

I am taking this week off to recoup from GDC, yay! I'm pretty sure that all I'll do all week is sleep and play Lumines. See you soon!

Rest well Leigh, you'll need it when you get to defend what was said at the rant panel: http://tinyurl.com/crbk8x
What Heather Chaplin said got a few people angry. Ironically, all the name calling kinda proves you guys right.

I don't really need to defend myself or anyone else!

In fact, I sort of disagree with Heather on a lot of things, and I might actually write about it later. Although Jim actually got the gist of her panel wrong -- she did say those words, but he misinterpreted why she was saying them.

So people out there can put "journalists" in quotes all they want, but the diff is none of us up there would ever write a commentary on a panel we didn't see.

Lumines is one of the greatest games ever. I would play it whenever Lindsay was playing Phoenix Wright. We refer to it as "Squares".

I so wish there was a Lumines version/clone that let people create their own stages!

Have a great vacation!

My question is this, though: Does a gaming journalist play games on vacation? Or, would that be considered working? :P

Lumines? A dive back into MGS4 for some more Solid Snake comfort goodness is more likely, no? So, FYE:

Enjoy your time off. Also, is Gamasutra going to toss up any coverage of the GDC rant? I'm enjoying the "three-way ego-system of negativity" quote floating around and I'd like more.

Or at least an explanation of the "ego-system".

Though a bit about the irony of the quality of the rant's press coverage would be fine too.
